Taipei Taiwan (July 02, 2007)--AAEON (TAIEX: 2463) , a professional Industrial PC manufacturer announces its membership of the COM Express Plug-and-Play initiative.  AAEON, ADLINK, Ampro, and Congatec are the current primary members of COM Express Plug-and-Play initiative.

COM Express is a well-defined PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG) standard for Computer-On-Modules (COM). PICMG defines two module sizes and five different pin-out types for COM modules. It offers more flexibility for embedded computing applications.

In order to avoid the incompatibility of different COM modules produced by multiple venders on a carrier board, the COM Express Plug-and-Play initiative will define a carrier board design guide and COM Express PnP Implementation Guide, to reduce the incompatibility between COM modules and carrier boards. This free design guide helps embedded system integrators exchange the COM Express components easily and prevents vender-related technical incompatibilities.  As a key member of the COM PnP initiative, AAEON provides the flexibility to customers who can design their carrier boards. This free COM Express PnP Implementation Guide contains complete details of circuitry, power sequencing, I/O definition and other criteria needed by customers for module interchangeability.

AAEON will design the COM modules in terms of the PICMG COM.0 standard as well as the COM Express PnP Implementation guidelines.
