Beijing, China (Aug.16)-The 2006 Intel Cup Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest-Embedded System Design Invitational Contest (Embedded System Design Invitational Contest) ran from March 10, 2006 to June 30, 2006.  The Award ceremony was held at China World Hotel in Beijing on August 8, 2006 with 158 teams participating in the contest.  AAEON's 3.5" SubCompact Board---GENE-8310, was designated as the only x86 developing platform.  AAEON Technology Inc. Vice President of Embedded Computing Division (ECD) Alan Yen, was invited to the awards ceremony to greet the winners.

To cultivate undergraduate students' creativities and innovative abilities in the high-tech and automation industries, Intel held the contest for participants to design, implement and document a working prototype based on the assigned AAEON SubCompact Board-GENE-8310.  The purpose of the contest is to look to apply the designs to devices that could be installed into real-world applications, such as in home security, medical, industrial control, transportation, and other necessary usages.  AAEON not only unfolded its embedded product design ability, but also took the social responsibility for nurturing students' innovative capabilities.
