| AAEON Unveils The Brand New Point of Promotion Panel PC's – POP-100 and POP-70 |

Taipei Taiwan (September 26, 2008) - AAEON, a premier Industrial PC manufacturer, unveils a brand new product line—Point of Promotion Panel PC. This new product line has been created for customers who require a simple digital signage application that broadcasts interactive video for sales promotions. The POP-100 and POP-70 are designed for the digital signage market that has limited space or require 16:9 wide screen sizes at point of purchase to suit market trends or specific applications.
The POP-100/ POP-70 adopts the Intel Celeron M Low Voltage Processor (up to 1.5GHz) and optional system memory is 512MB (up to 1GB). These two units feature flexible I/O ports and expansion interfaces—optional 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 connector, two COM ports, two USB2.0, and one Audio line-out. In addition, they also have one internal Mini PCI slot that provides a necessary expansion. The POP-100/POP-70 deploys a 2.5” Hard Disk Drive Bay and has an internal CompactFlash slot for storage options that assure the safety of interactive information.
The product manager of AAEON Panel Appliance & Automation Division, Mao-Lung Huang, has said the POP-100/ POP-70 supports various main stream operating systems, such as Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Window XP Embedded. In addition, the open frame design offers great compatibility and flexibility to install into users’ existing digital signage applications or Point of Sales and Point of Promotion applications. The POP-100 accommodates 10.2” WSVGA color TFT LCD display and the POP-70 is a 7” WVGA color TFT LCD display. We developed the medium/small size with 16:9 wide screen panel PC’s to cultivate the vertical digital signage market.
The LCD resolution of the POP-70 is 800 x 480 and the POP-100 is 1024 x 600. The typical luminance is 320 cd/m2 and 400 cd/m2 respectively. Moreover, backlight MTBF is 20,000 hours for the POP-70 and 40,000 hours for the POP-100. In addition to the LCD features, the POP-70 and POP-100 support touch screen as well. The target markets of the POP-70/ POP-100 are retail store, warehouse, hospital, MRT station, public infrastructures, etc. Integrating low power consumption, the fanless and compact size of the POP-70/ POP-100 are ideal and essential applications that will become excellent partners in making a great project successful.
