Taipei Taiwan (August 28, 2008) - AAEON, a premier Industrial PC manufacturer, announced a new COM Express carrier board--ECB-916M.  The ECB-916M is a microATX form factor board supporting Type 1 and Type 2 COM Express Modules.  AAEON's standard carrier boards can be used in their default configuration or as a starting point for a custom carrier design reducing the cost and time of development. Common uses of a standard carrier are proof-of-concept and software validation which gives any project a jump start to improve time to market.

The ECB-916M offers four serial ports, one parallel port, four USB ports, PS2 keyboard/mouse, an IrDA port, and 8-bit programmable digital I/O.  To take full advantage of today's high speed interfaces, the ECB-916M includes PCI-Express﹝x16﹞, PCI-Express﹝x1﹞, ExpressCard, Mini Card, standard PCI, as well as a Mini PCI.  Storage needs are met with one PATA channel, four SATA connectors, one Floppy Disk Drive connector, and a CompactFlash Type II slot.
