Purpose-built for in-vehicle applications, the VPC-5640S is equipped with four PoE LAN ports running at 2.5GbE speed, providing a robust set of pathways for conveniently installed, power-efficient peripheral cameras. These interfaces are joined by an additional LAN port supporting Intel® I226-LM, also at 2.5GbE speed, alongside DB-9 and DB-15 ports for RS-232/422/485, isolated CANBus, and an 8-bit digital I/O. This blend of PoE function and serial communication is complimented by the system’s 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processing, the power of which facilitates process control and task execution functions conducive to video surveillance applications.

Roadworthy, No Matter the Conditions

The VPC-5640S is designed for optimum functionality in the harshest settings, with a wide -40°C ~ 70°C temperature and 9V ~ 36V DC power input range with circuit protection and ignition delay on/off, which serves to protect crucial data against failure caused by variations in environmental conditions and power supply fluctuations. The VPC-5640S is also E-Mark certified, fanless, and boasts MIL-STD-810H vibration and shock tolerance, making it well-suited to thrive, rather than fail, under the pressures that are commonly encountered with in-vehicle applications.

Navigates the Road from the Edge to the Cloud

The VPC-5640S contains adequate storage provisions via a 2.5” HDD for SATA at 6Gb/s, along with NVMe thanks to its M.2 2280 M-Key. This base grants users more freedom to develop applications requiring data to be stored and processed on the edge. The system also enables interconnectivity with other aspects of the IoT ecosystem, accommodating Wi-Fi via an M.2 2230 E-Key. The system also hosts two M.2 3052 B-Keys with dual SIM slots to allow for the installation of two 5G modules simultaneously, granting excellent edge-to-cloud capabilities, along with an additional two standalone SIM slots. These features make the VPC-5640S tailor-made for fleet management, emphasized by onboard GPS, NEO-M9V & G-Sensor.
