Optimizing all of your systems in the palm of your hand
(Taipei, Taiwan) AAEON, an award-winning developer and supplier of network hardware worldwide, is pleased to announce that Technavio’s research report has ranked AAEON as one of the top 5 global industrial PC market vendors for 2017.
A major developer of industrial automation and intelligent control solutions, AAEON launches an UP family of products, designed specifically for applications in network security and gateway systems. Of special note in the UP series is the UP², which features the DDR4 and Intel Apollo-Lake CPU, and goes live next month. All three models of Intel’s own maker boards are slated to be phased-out in 2017, further cementing AAEON’s importance in the industry as the sole provider of the Intel Professional Maker Board.
Certainly, if William Blake spoke of seeing the world in a grain of sand, then he would have liked AAEON’s UP family of products, most of which are small enough to fit into the palm of one’s hand, and are multifunctional powerhouses in their own right. The UP² supports the latest Apollo-Lake processor, whilst the UP and UP-Core support the low-power, high performance Cherry-Trail Processor, which provides high efficiency at a minimum form factor. More importantly, they all come with an optimized fanless cooling design solution, which facilitates thermal management and prevents the system – with its newly upgraded CPU – from overheating. Airflow is also co-opted by the outer chassis, further enhancing thermal circulation and maintaining the longevity and stability of the system.
Onboard DDR3L/LPDDR4 memory and eMMC storage are additional features of the UP series, along with a wide range of expansion choices which include multi-functioning switching digital I/O by FPGA/CPLD and multi-display options, allowing users maximum flexibility and connectivity for current and future system requirements. More details about the UP boards can be found in the chart below.

“Designed to provide a nimble and nifty experience for the user, the architecture of our UP line is built for quick assimilation with existing systems, and supports all current OS – Linux, Android, and Windows 10 operating systems," said Jenny Chen, Product Manager for AAEON's Design and Manufacturing Division (DMS). “It is ideal for uses in robotics, drones, machine vision, smart homes, e-education, digital signage, intelligent vehicles, and the Internet of Things, and is built to address space restraints that are usually a key concern for clients who need to plan every square inch. The UP Core, our smallest board yet, is just around the corner, so be sure to keep an eye out for future designs.”
