The GENE-9655 SBC implements the Intel GME965 + ICH8M chipset and has the Socket-P that can accept an Intel Core 2 Duo/ Celeron M (65nm) processor, such as the 2.2GHz T7500. This single board computer can also be ordered with the option to have an Intel BGA processor embedded on it in place of the processor socket for greater versatility.
The GENE-9655 SBC supports up to 2GB of DDR2 533/667 memory in its one 200-pin SODIMM socket. For high-speed network communications, the GENE-9655 features the Intel 82574L and Intel 82566MM chipsets which support two Gigabit Ethernet ports to provide fast data transmission. Furthermore, the storage and operating system implementation of this robust single board computer can utilize a SATA II connector and one Type II CompactFlash™ socket. Another key feature of the GENE-9655 is the multiple I/O interfaces, such as six USB2.0 ports, three RS-232 ports, one switchable RS-232/422/485 port, one PS/2 Keyboard, one PS/2 Mouse and an 8-bit programmable Digital I/O interface for enhanced connectivity with peripheral devices.
At 146mm x 101.6mm, this sub compact SBC has expansion options in the form of a Mini-PCI interface and a Mini Card (Mini-PCI-Express) interface that can support 3G modules as well as a large number of commercially available devices to satisfy customers' various requirements, such as functioning as a display controller. In addition, the GENE-9655 can be equipped with an optional onboard Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to provide high-level security functionality for applications that demand locked down systems. Along with these features, this model also supports CRT/LCD, DVI/LCD simultaneous and dual view displays for video and multimedia applications. The display device is integrated into the Intel GME965 and shares system memory, up to 384MB with DVMT 4.0 support. The LCD interface of this robust SBC can support up to 24-bit dual-channel LVDS while, the CRT resolution is up to 1920x1440 and LCD and DVI resolution can go up to 1920x1200. The GENE-9655 comes standard with a DVI-I connector, but also available is a version that has the15-pin CRT connector in the DVI connector's place.
