研揚COM-945GSE採用Intel® Atom™ N270處理器，系統內存支持DDR2 400/533 SO-DIMM，最大到2GB。搭配Intel® 82945GSE 圖形顯示控制芯片和Intel® I/O 控制芯片7-M(ICH7M)，以及Intel® 82574L千兆以太網控制器用於加速網絡連接。此外，同時具備有並口和串行ATA接口為客戶提供靈活的儲存選擇。 COM-945GSE具備多功能擴展接口，包括3個PCI-Express[x1]，5個額外的PCI-Express[x1]接口可供選配，4個32位PCI，還有LPC、SM總線和I2C。大量的擴展接口使得系統集成商在擴展嵌入式系統時，不需要採購額外設備，即可實現需要的功能。
