研揚EPIC-5536板載AMD Geode™ LX800/900或是可選擇LX700處理器，其芯片組則採用AMD LX系列和CS5536。這款EPIC主板配置有200-pin DDR SODIMM系統內存，最大支持1GB（DDR333）或是512MB（DDR400），讓EPIC-5536能夠展現更快的速度和性能。另外，EPIC- 5536採用Realtek 8100C以太網絡芯片，可以支持2個RJ-45接口或是選配Realtek RTL8110S千兆網口，來提供彈性的網絡連接。這款新EPIC闆卡採用AMD Geode™ LX和TI SN75LVDS83芯片組支持CRT/LCD同步顯示功能，同時也支持24位TTL/LVDS LCD面板顯示。
EPIC-5536最大特性就是超低功耗這項功能，為了保護地球、節約能源，研揚科技研發出這款EPIC主板，其功耗不超過10瓦。除了低功耗這項特性之外，適合寬溫工作環境也是EPIC-5536的另一項優點。它可以應用於工業自動化控制、門禁安全或交通設備等需要寬溫工作的環境。同時，無風扇的設計讓EPIC-5536更加適用於低噪音要求的工作環境設備中，例如：醫院等。
EPIC-5536擁有1個IDE、2個具有RAID 0.1功能的SATA I，和1個Type II CF等，可搭配新舊系統裡既有的儲存槽使用。同時，這款產品還支持PC/104+插槽，和豐富的I/O擴展接口。此彈性擴展的I/O接口包括有4個USB2.0接口、5個COM、1個8位數字I/O、1個PS/2接口，和1個可選配的紅外線收發接口。
