The GENE-9455 SBC comes with the Intel Atom N270 processor 1.6GHz with a front side bus of 533MHz. A 200-pin SODIMM socket can be equipped with up to 2GB of DDR2 memory at 400 or 533 MHz. Two Intel 82574L Ethernet controllers provide connection to multiple Gigabit networks enabling high bandwidth network communication. The Mini PCI and AAEON's ECX Proprietary Expansion interfaces allow for the addition of a wide range of peripheral devices including wireless communication or customized functions, and storage needs are sufficiently met with one IDE, two SATA II and one Type II CompactFlash™ connectors. The GENE-9455 Subcompact board also offers standard Features such as four USB 2.0 ports for greater expandability, four COM ports, one 8-bit programmable digital I/O interface and an optional 4/5/8-wire touch screen controller. The versatility of the 3.5” SBC offers users distinct advantages when it comes to space and budget constraints.
Intel Atom processors offer dynamic performance in a highly compact factor and within a small power envelope. The GENE-9455 takes advantage of these characteristics to meet the needs for mobility in the embedded systems market place. With the integrated display technology that Intel has been so successful at delivering, this small form factor embedded board can be offered with CRT and LCD support in simultaneous or dual view modes. With support for CRT, LVDS, NTSC & PAL standard S-terminal in addition to composite video connector and optional DVI-I port, the GENE-9455 satisfies nearly all display requirements, such as in medical equipment controllers. This, in addition to the audio Features such as Mic-in, CD-in, Line-in and Line-out function supporting AC97 2.3 codec 2CH, make this SBC a great product for multimedia applications.
