Taipei, Taiwan, January 24, 2024— AAEON today announced that it will streamline access to the new NVIDIA Metropolis Microservices for Jetson for its customers using a suite of cloud-native microservices and reference applications that can be preinstalled and ready for use across a number of its solutions powered by the NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ platform.

AAEON’s BOXER-8640AI and BOXER-8641AI, both powered by the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin™ module, support the latest updates to the NVIDIA JetPack™ SDK and will be made available with NVIDIA Metropolis Microservices preinstalled, giving customers and developers using the powerful NVIDIA Jetson edge AI and robotic platform a seamless route to build elite inferencing models for advanced applications such as in-vehicle monitoring systems, smart safety applications, and frictionless retail services.

NVIDIA Metropolis Microservices for Jetson helps developers modernize their app stack, streamline development and deployment, and future-proof their apps with the ability to bring the latest generative AI capabilities to any customer through simple application programming interface calls. Its application microservices include video storage and management, pre-built vision AI inference pipelines, system monitoring, and cloud connectivity. Its platform microservices include system monitoring, IoT gateways, and cloud connectivity services to help with solution maintenance. And its powerful reference workflows help developers get started immediately.

With AAEON offering the option to purchase the BOXER-8640AI and BOXER-8641AI with NVIDIA Metropolis Microservices for Jetson preinstalled, customers will be able to fast-track the deployment and management of fleets of NVIDIA Jetson Orin-powered industrial edge solutions, combining their fleet management platform with NVIDIA Metropolis Microservices for Jetson.

“We strive to bring industry-leading edge AI platforms to our customers and make it easier for them to take advantage of the latest technology NVIDIA has to offer,” said Alex Hsueh, Associate Vice President of AAEON’s Smart Platform Division. “With access to such a sophisticated app stack and the ability to streamline developer workflow thanks to the introduction of NVIDIA Metropolis Microservices for Jetson, our customers will be even better equipped to produce truly world-class in-vehicle, smart safety, and smart retail solutions.”

Smart retail and smart safety have long been staple vertical markets that have benefited from AAEON’s product line based on NVIDIA Jetson system-on-modules. AAEON’s upcoming releases are set to truly test the waters of the in-vehicle embedded computing market, harnessing a variety of new technologies in order to build industry-specific solutions that target the in-vehicle market.

While not yet publicly available, AAEON has confirmed that these additions to its product portfolio will be released during Q1, 2024.
